Isometrics vs. Other Exercises

Isometric exercise is a form of exercise that does not involve any joint range of motion. There are reasons why you may not want to move your joint in order to preform an exercise that will strengthen your muscles. The biggest reason is when you have an injury to your joint. Isometric exercises are the exercise of choice when there is injury. This is the case because of you not moving the injured area yet still being able to work the muscles around the injured joint.
