Maria Sharapova

We know her now because of her many endorsements. We know she is a tennis player, even if we do not follow tennis. Maria Sharapova became a professional tennis player at the ripe old age of 13 in 2001. She won her 1st Grand Slam title in 2004 when she defeated Serena Williams at Wimbledon. Born in Russia, she started tennis lessons at an early age but her parents soon realized she need better training in order to become a professional.
