Isometric Exercise, Easy and Beneficial

Isometrics is an exercise that anyone can do, anywhere they are. It is a strength training exercise, which works the joints and muscles. This is a great exercise for people that have fibromyalgia. There has been research done by NASA regarding this exercise. They used the astronauts that were in space, living in a zero gravity area. They studied the lengthening and shortening of the muscles. The great thing about isometrics is that you can do them right at your desk!

Isometric exercises are the contraction of the muscles. When you push against a wall, chair or object, it is a form of the isometric exercise. When working with this exercise, a person will not want to strain the muscles, so make sure to be careful and not over do it. During the beginning of this exercise, body builders that would use it in order to build up their muscles. Besides building the muscles and the joints, it can also help to build up the heart muscles.

In order to build up the muscles in your arms, you can sit in a chair or on the floor and hold weights out in front of them. You will want to begin this for a short time then build up slowly. Another example of this exercise is using the wall. A person will put their back to the wall and stand in a squat position for a count of ten.

This exercise is not to be used with anyone with heart disease, high blood pressure or who is pregnant. Make sure to check with your doctor before starting any exercise routines.
