Importance of Stretching Before Running

Stretching before you begin running is important for several reasons. As an Athletic Trainer, I have seen many injuries from high school and collegiate athletes as well as recreational athletes because they neglect to do this before their workouts. Stretching before running warms up your muscles to become more elastic. This will help to run with a longer stride so you can run with proper form and decrease your time.
